Reefs Revealed is my favourite coffee table book and it is in fact often found just there. This is the book I show anyone when they ask me about underwater photography or what scuba diving is really like.
Alex Mustard has compiled a fantastic collection of images of the tropical underwater world. Coral, balls of schooling fish, clownfish (of course), sharks, barracudas, stingrays, pygmy seahorses this book has it all, seen through Alex’s “unique eye” (D. Doubilet).
But there is more – Alex Mustard, Phd is also a marine biologist and probably like no other popular underwater photographer knows how to explain his audience there is always more than meets the eye. I learned a lot about each species just browsing and following the author’s notes. This is definitely a book for the whole family, not fish identification, and would make a great present for any diver.
