A fantastic field guide on fish identification, comprehensive and detailed. If you like colorful illustrations (no underwater photography in here), this book is for you! There are over 2,500 types of shallow water reef fish covered in amazing detail, both Carribean and Pacific species, which make this little pocket book an indispensible field guide.
The book is broken down into separate geographical sections and then sorted by family. Each fish is covered with a drawing outlining it’s features and a short blurb detailing it’s distribution and habitat. For a book this small, the amount of data in here is staggering. A no-nonsense read that goes in my bag on every dive trip.
