Another soft coral shot from Wakatobi. Here I got lucky with the schooling Butterflies (Hemitaurichthys polylepis) which are adding to the photo by swimming around the Gorgonian. In real life they actually swam downwards and I was photographing this towards the surface in portrait mode, making this shot a good example that you don’t need to be too strict about aspect as long as it serves composition.
Photographed with the 10-24mm wide angle lens, f/13 for 1/60s, ISO 200. Post processing includes level adjustment and backscatter removal with clone stamp in Photoshop.
